| Massive Cinema to Debut -- Just Later |
|
Due to overwhelming demand, we've had to reconfigure our servers to handle the traffic, thus setting back our launch date for Massive Cinema to Friday, Aug. 1. What happens when MiniCini grows up? It becomes Massive Cinema. The Shootout's popular little film competition for beginners has blossomed into a competition encompassing all forms of digital media. The competition will be launched with a workshop and expo at the Hyatt Regency Grand Ballroom Friday, Aug. 1, from 3-6 pm and continues with a call for entries for shorts, animation or music videos of three minutes or less. For the first time, finished pieces will be hosted on the American Film Institute website. Entries will be accepted through August. Massive Cinema is designed for aspiring filmmakers of all ages who may not have the tools or knowledge to produce a short movie. The competition is aimed at discovering and nurturing emerging talent locally, regionally and internationally.
Industry professionals will judge the submissions and winners will be awarded prizes and instruction from several major corporations. All Bernalillo County residents are eligible to participate. The event is co-sponsored by Intel, Q Studios and the American Film Institute
