Enter your script of 12 minutes or shorter, and if it’s chosen, the festival will transport you to the high desert of Albuquerque, New Mexico for one crazy week of filmmaking. We’ll supply you with cast, crew, cameras, catering, equipment, and even an industry mentor to get you from script to screen — a $50,000 value. We are changing the script competition this year. We will select 10 finalists for the Shootout, to be announced on June 4. Writers will be given script notes from our team of screenwriters, along with suggestions for re-writes. Writers will have five days to re-write and re-submit. Judges will then choose the final seven scripts to be produced at the Shootout. There are two ways to enter. Send a hard copy of your script in an accepted script format (Final Draft, e.g.) to: Duke City Shootout with a check or money order for $30 (until April 15, 2008) or $35 (between April 15 and May 15, 2008) made out to the Digital Filmmaking Institute. Scripts will not be returned. Or, visit Withoutabox.com to submit your script electronically and pay by credit card. The deadline for scripts is May 15, 2008. Scripts submitted electronically must be received by midnight, May 15, 2008. Scripts submitted by mail must be postmarked no later than May 15, 2008 and must be accompanied by this form: Questions? Check out our FAQ and if that doesn’t answer your question, contact us. Thanks for playing and check back here for more details on next year’s event. |
