6-Year Old Sets Director Straight

From Chris Boone

First day on Preschool shooting the last scene of the movie -- shoot master, singles, great performances, moving on. We've completely rearranged the lighting, moved camera, everything, when our 6-year-old talent asks me, "So, we're not doing the fist bump at the end of the scene anymore?" -- the one moment that tells the audience that she's in cahoots with dad. Completely forgot to have the talent do the fist bump. So, what do we do? Reset the whole scene from scratch, reset lights, reset camera, reset talent, everything 2 hours after we started, for one small shot. But it meant everything! And yes, I am not smarter than a 6-year-old.
